Quick exhaust piping question
 

Hey guys,

Complete newb at this, I bottomed out the back end of my car a week ago out in the US and it split the exhaust pipe in the rear end.

1998 Acura 1.6EL (mechanically equivalent to 1998 Civic sedan)


It's the area circled in red.


I know it's the B pipe but I *think* I only need the rear portion of it replaced (unless the B pipe only comes as an entire unit)

1) does this pipe only come as the entire "B Pipe" ?

2) if it comes in separate components, what is the name for just the end portion that I need?

Best way to replace it is to replace the entire B pipe.

If you go to "muffler shops" they often do some hack ass job and weld a 2/3/4 piece system into one...so when you have to replace it sometime down the road, you're royally fucked.

And it's not like their shitty welding job is cheap either. It would probably cost the same (slightly under/over) what you'd pay if you bought the B pipe yourself and got someone to install it (~$40-50 bucks) because you'll probably need a torch or something.

I replaced a complete b pipe for 95 delsol last year since there was rust along the resonator area.

It was similar to where you indicated on the diagram.

I dont think theres "that" particular area piping... Instead you have to buy the complete.

If pricing is a concern, get a Walker brand b pipe... Costed about $120.

Just talked to my good buddy who's family owns VAP.

That entire intermediate/middle pipe, gaskets for front piping and muffler, bolt kit, $117.xx taxes in.

Now I'll just grab one of the mechanics from my shop to install and I'm good to go!
