Where do you buy 3M double sided tape? Where do you get those 3M double sided adhesive tapes for installing window visors and lip kits? I've tried looking for them at CT, Walmart, Superstore but still no go. They only have other brands but not the 3M ones with the red colour backing that I used to use... Is Lordco the only place that has them for sale now? |
Canadian Tire (Cambie store at least) has good double sided tape, I don't think its 3M but it works for auto purposes well. But don't go to the auto section for it, the same stuff is in the exterior home section(near silicone, duck tape spray glue etc) for about $5 less. |
Lordco does have it but it's quite expensive. I know that they are used for body kits and one guy spent $300 for his kit. |
Holy shit? I'm looking at using it for my window visors and a front/back lip. That's freaking nuts to spend $300 on tape... |
Go to Lordco and grab a roll of molding tape. I payed $54 for a huge roll! |
5.99 at home depot, you will need to cut it half though |
the tape at canadian tire works fine... it held on my emblems just as good a the OEM tape.. |
Staples and Home Depot sells it too. Cheap. 6.36 |
Thanks all. I found the ones at home depot but they weren't meant for automobile applications. Ended up getting a roll from a friend instead! |

sorry for high jacking the thread but where can i get 3m adhesive removal stuff? |
any of these same places should carry it......... |
I broke my dash cam part that holds the camera in place with the windshield. Does these tape stick will together? I tried using double sided tape from dollar stores and I think the heat keeps it from sticking together which cause it to fall off. |
You can't compare dollar store double sided tape to 3M automotive tape. However, depending on the size of the surface area, texture, etc of where you are mounting the tape, 3M may eventually fail as well. I used 3M tape to hold up my dash camera, but only had a very small surface area (less than 2 cm). The tape would hold for a few months and eventually fail. On other cars where I've used 3M tape where I had more surface area, like > 5cm, the tape is still holding strong. |
That made sense. Thank you |
