If I get anything back. I'll buy something small for myself and save the rest.

Don't go there. They'll be walking to the bank with your money with a big smile at the end of the day. :troll:

did any of you guys claim the taxes thing for the monthly bus passes? i had it last year but did not keep the passes/receipts but still wanna claim it.. you think they will hassle me if i do?

keifun 03-14-2011 09:09 PM

I still do mine the old fashioned way. Pen/Pencil and calculator; rather than paying some place like H&R to do it.

Well my taxes are easy I guess. Just a few T4s and school tuition stuff.

anybody know how much is the hst/gst credit alltogether (bc/fedral)? is it $230 from bc gov (sourcehttp://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/bnfts/rltd_prgrms/bc-eng.html

or

$500+ source http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/ebci/icbc/s...SimnController

considering income is less than 10k

Not true. I always pre-do my taxes on my own and then go to HR block for the instant refund. If you do the instant refund you don't have to pay a prep fee and I think I only had to pay them like $60 to get my money right away.

And they helped me write of a bunch of stuff I otherwise wouldn't have and increased my refund a few hundred $.

From my experience if you file a T1 adjustment form to adjust a prior year, you will need some sort of support for your adjustment. If you send the form with no support it's likely that they will request for it anyways.
