paint chip on bumper
 

I just noticed that I dinged my front bumper and would like some advice on places where I can get it fixed and how much it would cost me. the car is an Audi A4 B8.

That looks like it's a write off.


Srz: Id say most places are ginn be about 100-125 for sanding/making it flat plus spot
painting. What city are you in? Can't see cuz of mobile.

Man, I think I'll just touch it up and leave it... lol

People prob won't even notice, unless you're very anal about it.

ya just touch it up with some automotive paint from canadian tire. Otherwise, that'll probably cost you at least $200.

alright thanks guys...actually in that picture it looks way bigger than it really is..the picture is only the very tip of the bumper so not that noticeable..i'll just touch it up..thanks

you didn't get any touchup paint when you bought the car?

Most body shops will just respray the entire bumper for that, I don't know of many that do spot repairs. See if your dealership has touch up paint, it's a tad more than CT but, at least for mine, it matches.

You could go hardcore and do the full spot sand/primer/color/clear with a paintbrush but err...results may vary. Seriously, needs a load of practice and patience lol: http://www.the-meadows.info/projects...de-touchUp.pdf

It will still be near what I guesstimate to fix it perfectly though, but just throw some touch up on it.

To repair it 'properly' you'd be looking around $400-$600 - can't really say without a picture of the complete bumper to see what options are on it.
This would include removing the bumper completely from the car, taking it apart, repairing the gouged material at the lower edge, and blending the color throughought to make the repaired area disapear and guarantee it from peeling or discoloring down the road.

I just touched it up because it wasn't that unnoticeable. Body shops said the only way to do it "properly" is what Shantz said above. They have to re-do the whole bumper for the color and paint to blend correctly.

Lol that's tiny. Just touch it up.
