Damn, I was expecting an execution for too many speeding tickets and infractions.

This is just some stupid marketing scheme. The "owner" stuck a banner on the side of the car, advertising for some company that sells lighting. He claimed he spent 4million RMB (around $600,000) on this car around half a year ago, which does not make any sense at all, since this is an old Gallardo which Lambo stopped producing in 2007. Also, the stereo and some interior pieces were ripped out, if he could afford to smash up a 6 months old Lambo just to prove a point, why bother taking out anything?

the broken windshield wipers from that are still worth more than my integra

So i guess that kinda means for example a used clean title Integra Type R in China goes for about 30K USD.

In china, the government won't care if the title is clear.

All cars in Asia, especially new ones, have high mark-up because they're considered luxury products (100% luxury tax or more at some areas) . Exotics are probably marked-up higher. The most expensive place to own a car is probably Singapore, not China.

hey dumb fuck, TAX doesn't equal mark up!

last time I check the price of the LP670 before tax in HK is actually cheaper than Canada's MSRP

124Y 03-15-2011 06:46 PM

Damn... I'll bet the owner will buy a Ferrari afterwards to top that off.

After a diagnostic, we have come to the conclusion that you simply forgot to step on the clutch while turning it on.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Second time means real business!

All this guy did is save Lamborghini some money (besides making himself look stupid).

With any new car, a portion of the profit of the vehicle is paid back out to the customer through warranty costs. With everyday consumer cars, this "per vehicle" cost is quite low - usually under $1,000. But with high-end and exotic cars, the manufacturer can be expected to pay out significant $$$ to repair items under warranty.

By destroying this car, he just saved Lamborghini thousands of dollars.

he probably cause lambo a few potential sales in China as few more chinese ballers will probably think "oh i heard lambos are bad quality, maybe I should go for a ferrari"

dark0821 03-17-2011 10:59 AM

^ + 1

at least his circle of friends who were in market for exotics are gonna stay hella away from lambo now...

dangonay 03-17-2011 01:29 PM

^ I doubt it. More like they think the guys an idiot for wasting so much money. If he's so ballin and powerful he could gave had something done about it (like get a refund or buyback from Lamborghini). The fact he couldn't shows he's some lightweight with no influence or power, despite his money.

This won't affect Lamborghini at all. Do you see Lamborghini offering 0.9% financing at year end to move old inventory they couldn't sell? They sell every car they can make. If someone in China doesn't buy them, somebody else will.

In other news, Lamborghini continues to make buckets of money and doesn't give a shit what some guy in China does.
