how deep are the scratches? As for the faded paint it should be easy, however i dont have a polisher, instead i would be doing polish by hand. If you need help, shoot me a PM. |
I got a yakima rack as well now I got 4 spots on my roof where the faring was. :( I tried polishing but it didn't work it's quite deep. Posted via RS Mobile |

i think the only way to remove it is to wet sand then polish? |

I gotta talk to Ken and see how I can restore it |
Send me a pic. As well, I wouldn't wet sand anything without a paint thickness gauge. Some of the clears these days are dreadfully thin. Have a brand new S4 in my shop with readings under 100 on the trunklid. Scary thin. |

Doesn't the Yakima racks come with stick on plastic that you can put on your paint to protect it from rubbing? I'm not sure if there's any vinyl shops or places that do PPF that can sell you a small sheet that you can cut to size and stick on to where the roof rack will be placed to prevent it from happening again. I'd say bring it by Ken's shop as well. Have him give you an expert opinion. |
Someone want to do mine when it comes out of storage lol. got tons of swirls and junk like that. http://i589.photobucket.com/albums/s..._00/008-31.jpg |
Out of storage? You mean a time machine? Looks like its in nice shape. We'd need to see it to give you an accurate quote. Single stage polish would be approx $325. Two stage would be around $495. |
