Which was also the one I went to last summer. My friends and I had taken the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel (waste of time & money, don't go) and were meeting a friend at a mall on the other side. After he left, we were walking back to the area near the bridge to walk back over, we saw Hooters. So obviously..we wanted to get some beer.

How is this any different than Chinese Restaurants in North America? Your post leads me to believe that you have never left Vancouver or whatever suburb you come from. Not only are there thousands of North Americans working in major Chinese cities but a lot of Chinese Americans, Expats and people looking for something different. Something like this makes sense.

I went there (same one in the video) in 2009, with 3 friends (2 Chinese, 1 Indian). Of course the waitress zeroes in on my brown friend. Their convo went something like this:

Girl: (horrible accident) Hey you, wassup?
Friend: What's up with you?
Girl: *dead silence, English is too crappy*

It was hilarious, and total culture fail. :lol

The worst was when the announcer went (crappy accent again) "Okay girls, it's Showtime!" Of the 6 or so girls dancing, only 2 actually knew the moves. The other 4 were just watching + following in a half-assed way. It was actually pretty lame but we couldn't stop staring. It was like a train wreck. Too bad RS doesn't have a decent way to host vids or I'd throw one up.

Oh, and the beers are waaay overpriced. 100rmb (about $16CAD) per pitcher if I remember correctly.

Bottom line? Hotter girls and cheaper beers elsewhere in BJ. :)
