sandblasting / stripping help
 
so i got a pair of rims that are spray painted gold.. and im wanting to strip them.. i got told i cant use paint stripper.. cause there aluminum rims.. so does anyone know any cheap sandblaster? thats i can pay or that well let me do it myself? I`m going to heat treat the rims .. bake them and professorially paint them takata green

Aircraft stripper is the most amazing thing I've ever seen/used. Wear gloves cause it will burn your skin...what type of gloves? I have no friggin idea cause they will eat through rubber and nitrite gloves.

Use Talstrip Aircraft Stripper, its about $30 for a good size jug..less if you have a discount. I double up plastic gloves too incase i do get some on one hand i can tear it off quickly without worrying about the burning. I just finished using it on my aluminum louvers and it worked fine....Sandblasting might actually cause pitting but im not %100 on that.

That's from using the wrong media.

If it's just a case of changing colour and it's not powdwer coated, go for the stripper.
