Pulling codes for GM's "OBD 1.5" cars How do you pull codes for GM's stupid not-quite OBD2 cars, selpecifically a '95 Sunfire? I've heard an OBD2 scanner won't read the computer for CEL's. Posted via RS Mobile |
You need the OBD1 types? |
OBD-1 would probably work, considering a Snap-On Solus read the codes from a '92 Bonneville. |

Random CEL pops on and off. Just trying to diagnose what it's for. Haven't been able to determine what's wrong with conventional methods. Posted via RS Mobile |
if it.s a 2.2, oxygen sensors are prone to failure. Like I said though ... an OBD I reader should work. |
could you try using a GM Tech 2 scan tool? |

So... anyone have either an OBD1 or GM Tech 2 scanner they would like to lend me? :D |

If it has an obd2 port, an obd2 scanner will work. It will have same amount of info as an obd1 computer but with the connection of an obd2. Posted via RS Mobile |
What's wrong with jumpng the terminals and reading the codes the "old fashioned way"? |
