oh no as in my general experience over there when I was car shopping. I didn't get the $15 oil change deal as I bring my Mazda back to Signature Mazda @ Auto Mall (I might start bringing it to else where soon) and my Merc isnt due for one yet. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

yeah I was there the whole time rolled in at 11, walked to CT across the street to buy some random bits and pieces and came back at 11:30 or so.... sat in the showroom waiting corner drinking their free coffee and got the car back at 12:30 or something with a report. Watched them wash the car and vacuumed the thing before I left the premises.

If anything the receipt did come with a 30-pt inspection report check list right?

Your bad experience might be contributed by the fact that the mechanics have gone home and the service advisor did not remember who you were?

It's rather common practice to send customer away if there is only one sales person on the floor though, no one is going to greet the next customer if he went test driving with you otherwise.

On top of that I was browsing their catalog of subaru accessories and inquired about the under seat subwoofer - I asked them if they know if the plug is generic and if I can hook it up to an aftermarket deck, they pulled a kit out of the warehouse for me to look at. No complaints there. too bad the amp+sub uses a proprietary plug...

They're like the NCIX of subaru dealers, works good and service is ok, but you're really goin there for the lower price rather than a friendly chat

But yeah there was 1 sale person and like 4 other people at desks who I don't even know what they do. Ah well, I may go again if the new wrx looks sweet

bringing my moms car in for oil change next week and they asked for vehicle VIN # to set an appointment? :confused:

never brought the car in to do service other than from the dealership we bought the car from, so is this common practice? don't know why they'd want it... girl on the phone said it was "to know what kind of oil to use" :lawl:

That's true to a degree.
With your VIN number, they will then know the exact year and model of your car...AND the last registered mileage on the system. For example, if they look up your VIN, and half a year ago...your mileage was at 230,000km already, then obviously they will be using a different type of oil compare to a brand new sparkling STI.

yeah they asked me about my VIN and stuff for my oil change too.

I think it's mostly to avoid someone else coming in and take my reservation spot....I would imagine that happens rather easily.

I went with the same coupon for the Accord oil change also pretty trouble free I would say... and the 30 pt report correctly pointed me to my next repairs so it's alright I think.

wouldn't it be easier just to ask for my mileage? they already asked for model/year

so went there for the second time with the coupon last week.

first time it was flat out using the coupons plus a couple bucks for tax.

this time they decided to charge me a $10 premium because my car needs 5w20 oil...
not synthetic, plain old motor oil
last time they didn't charge me anything. same car same oil

so total was $15 for the voucher and another $15 for oil tax enviro crap.

just a heads up next time anyone goes

do they work on lowered cars?

i remember it said no modified cars.

as well can i option to get synthetic oil instead of conventional oil?

yes, bring your own synthetic oil.

Also modified cars are ok.
