Toyota Hiking U.S. Car Prices by 1.7%

Toyota has announced it will increase prices of its vehicles across the board by an average of 1.7 percent. The move comes not only in response to damages to it has sustained during the recent earthquake, but also due to the continued climb of the Yen.

As a result, an entry level Yaris will see a price hike by $200 to $13,155, whereas a Lexus LS600h L will see a hike of $900 to $112,250.

Toyota has managed to bring production of its Prius hybrid models back online since the Earthquake and Tsunami on March 11, however, production at all other plants have been halted.

Toyota insists its dealers have sufficient supply, but it is expected that ongoing fractures in the supply chain will eventually force work stoppages at plans in North America.

Im surprised the LS600hL only cost $112,250 in the states. Even after the price hike, cars are still cheaper than Canada.
