Marketing some cars can be pretty hard in another country

I guess alot manufacturers went to numbers and letters cause of this

I'm hoping that these cars were renamed before being sold in the countries where the names is so.... questionable. Except for the last 3 i guess. Then again, i suppose that it's hard to ensure that the name of your car doesn't envoke a double entendre in all dialects in the region.

Surprised the STi isn't on there...

That list is stupid.
Honda Fit is actually called Jazz in Europe.

FORD Probe - sounds like the seats are going to be very uncomfortable.

I was personally waiting for the Chevy Enema to come out. :p

Only reason people think something bad for the probe is because they're sick minded :lol

and Honda Jazz can be misconstrued how?

JS1988 04-07-2011 08:40 PM

Honda never sold that model as a Fit in Sweden so it was never a marketing fail, therefore number 7 doesn't belong on the list.
But yea, this is the reason manufacturers moved towards numbers and letters. That and to sound classier and to put more emphasis on the brand itself.

Seeing how many people want STis, I'd say that is a marketing success.

Well then I guess it's a good thing Toyota renamed their, "GayerThanABagOfDicks" to the "Prius".
