"SD card unexpectedly removed" error message on android Anyone has the "SD card unexpectedly removed" message on their android? I have seen several models of android (htc Legend, LG optimus, Galaxy S, random android tablets with froyo.) experience this type of problem. This seems to be very common problem on the interenet discussion forum. I read and read and found that all the devices are android 2.2 froyo. And in most cases, the original microSD that came with the phone works fine. It happens when user buys a larger capacity card. It doesnt seem to matter to what brand or class. Some may have kingston class 4 8gb that exhibit no problem, and that same card will have error messages in another froyo user. I read that it happens most often when people moves apps to SD card or APP2SD. Anyone has a fix? so far no one seems to know if its hardware or software problem (froyo). This is frustrating cuz i am limited to the stock microSD which is only a 2GB. I have an HTC legend from Bell , unrooted but unlocked to work on rogers. |
Try popping in your microsd into a PC. Windows should detect it has problems and attempt to scan and repair the card for you. That should fix it. |

Also, for example, I would load 10 songs onto card via SD reader on my PC , and plug it in the phone slot. Try to play the song using music player in android or winamp player app, it would stop after about 20 secs and it goes " error, SD has unexpectedly been removed".. So shitty cuz the SD card is not damaged, and I dunno if its google to blame or HTC, since Samsung or Acer Liquid also has same issues reading from internet sites. |
i read somewhere that some rom has no sd card problem. i am using void #echo rom on lg optimus right now havent seen sd card problem yet. i have seen this problen on stock rom. b ut again i only used this rom since 4 days ago. could it be a software problem rather than hardware? Various factors can cause it. The main one is connecting to the PC via USB and not unmounting it. Though even when you unmount it has issues. If your device is rooted with Clockwork Mod you can try booting into recovery and mounting the USB. Then scan and fix via windows through the phone. |
