Haha thanks. I just started this position a couple months ago.
Oddly enough, it's about 70% finance/accounting/management and 30% engineering.. even though I have little to no experience in the finance area. But really it's just simple paper work and budgeting..

No degree, no UBC. If I did Engineering at UBC I wouldn't be graduated until I'm 23-26.
Originally I wanted to work in the music industry, but my mom being Chinese, and my dad being half Chinese, you could imagine how that went over.
So basically I just researched the highest salary with the most available job market, and found a 2-year Engineering program at BCIT. They had a waitlist, so I spent a year at SFU studying general math and physics and transferred my credits to BCIT. After finishing the program, I ended up with a couple Certificates, a Diploma, and a job with great pay.
I really did not care what the program was or what I was doing. I just needed a high-paying job to put myself through music school and fund this expensive hobby. Then when I graduated, one thing led to another.. And after some negotiations with the company, I fell into this position.
It is kind of odd, because ~80% of graduates from this program end up doing shift work at mills, power plants, oil refineries, etc. But I ended up with an office day job. Given that, the people working in those environments probably make more than me.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the program as I don't wanna clutter this thread.

Props to u for finding such a higher-end position with so little schooling and without a degree even at a such an age. This just comes to show how people with degrees dont always dominate in the market. You must be one heck of an outgoing fellow. I am inspired.
