Fork Oil I need a litre of 15W fork oil - who would have it sitting on a shelf to buy today? Richmond or Vancouver area. |
Most likely 5th Gear. Call Bill at the shop to make sure he's in. Or Pacific Yamaha BMW Ducati Moto Guzzi Triumph Husqvarna whatever the fuck they're called now. Or good ol' Murray @ Modern Motorcycle. :D (He's the only guy I go to for parts. Every other shop in town are just snakes.) Edit: He's got a tonne of stuff on sale, mainly parts and stuff. His distributor passed away and now they're having an estate sale. I just picked up a new battery for $35 - cash! :D |

Picked it up from Modern and got a chance to talk with them about my SV. I am past the mileage to check the valves, and they said don't worry until at least double that mileage. Most of the posts on SVRider confirm, first valve check almost always is within spec. |
Finished swapping the front springs this afternoon, and installed ZX14 rear shock last weekend. Should have done long ago, the bike is so much more responsive, comfortable, and stable with it setup properly for my weight (225 lbs). It was like a pogo stick over bumps, felt loose in the corners, wandered all over the road, and dove under braking - all gone with the new suspension setup! |
Is this a common mod to the SV650? |

Also a very easy mod. Rear shock takes about an hour, front springs take about 2 hours if you take your time. |
