$43 Groupon Basic BCAA Membership http://www.groupon.com/deals/british...le-association Quote:
I was sure I was going to get this but now a little confused by the fine print. I let my membership lapse and if purchased, would pay extra to be a Plus member. However, the fine print seems contradictory where it states: "Not valid for membership renewal, coverage upgrades for existing memberships, or new associates." then later: "can also apply today’s Groupon toward upgrading to the BCAA’s additional membership levels" |
is there a point of getting this if you have roadstar+ ? |
i was considering getting this too since mine expired. not sure anymore |

With BCAA+ you get 5(?) tows, Roadside+ only reimburses you $50 on 2 tows/year. They both have their benefits. BCAA+ = more tows (any vehicle as long as member is present), fuel, jumpstarts, discounts at restaurants/hotels but initial cost is higher. Roadside+ = cheaper, free lock re-key if your key are lost/stolen, loss of use, travel protection, theft deductible waiver, taxi cost reimbursment after accident/theft There's also private insurace, some of which I've heard have better/cheaper rates than ICBC as it pertains to covering tows and roadside assistance. ie. http://www.familyins.com/prodauto.asp Quote:

called bcaa to confirm. this is what i gathered: what you get is: new basic membership at half price + taxes: 4 road side assist calls, -towing up to 5km (or closest garage). 2.40 for additional kms -fuel delivery -jump starts -etc locksmithing valued up to $50 you can use it to upgrade memberships if you would like. this is good for new memberships only (people that haven't been with bcaa before). overall i'd say a good deal. thanks op. im jumping on this one. |

damn i guess im SOL |
i think roadside + is 50 bucks |
basic doesn't cover motorcycles :( |
how many of you guys have BCAA or Roadside? is it worth it to shell out for the safety of mind ? do you guys find u use it ? |
i had to use it once in the last 2 years and it was when i didnt have it so when i called BCAA i signed up on the spot, but had to pay close 100, so this is a good deal. but! since my car is low, i need a flatbed to tow it. i had to wait for 5 hours for a flatbed, and it still didnt show up, i ended up leaving the car and coming back with a air compressor and drove it to a tire place myself. i was not impressed. |
I have both roadside+ and basic BCAA. They have saved me on separate ocassions and I think they are worth the money. Called BCAA when: My car battery died My gf's car battery died Used Roadside+ when: Rented a car because of accident (5 days) Posted via RS Mobile |
i think its definitely worth it if you drive an older car or a very unreliable car |
I used it once on my del sol and once on my friends motorcycle. Well worth the money. Posted via RS Mobile |

Remember, BCAA also make a great DD if you happen to get wasted. |
i've had it for a number of years, don't use it very much but at least there's peace of mind when I have it. Had to use their services earlier on in the year when I left my keys in the car...the guy took less than a min to get it out. You can also use your membership to get free maps, etc |
roadside is worth it. i once got a tow truck driver to get my keys out (locked them in) and that was covered. also ive used it countless times to cover car rental insurance. |
