Throughout his life Shakespear strove to not allow a single piece of his work to be published and went to great lengths to prevent it from making it into print, his desire was for it to never be read, only viewed as a play and under his immediate direction so his art would be viewed in the precise way he intended. Now, Shakespear is quite possibly the most published and studied author in history outside of religious texts. Quote:

yeah i thought they dont actually have a true image of shakespeare | There are a number of depictions of Shakespear from various points in his life and there is a degree of consistency within all of them, but as with any painting there is a significant amount of artistic license. |
