lol at the http://members.shaw.ca/volvoman/index/Pictures/sbj.JPG replies Anyways, you have to soak the plank in water before using so it will perform better on the grill. 2 hours was all I did but you can certainly soak for longer. It isn't only for salmon. Any other fish or meat will do fine on a plank. The great thing about a plank is the smokey cedar flavour you get with the plank. It really infuses well with a salmon. Tricky part is controlling the temperature inside the grill and making sure you don't light it on fire, but at the same time, make sure it is hot enough to ensure proper smoking. I got my recipe from www.tastytimbers.com The planks I used were from Costco, $10 for 7 cedar planks. I also got the fish, soy and maple syrup from Costco. Long live Costco! |
