Crab Pot Anyone ever tried this place? Headed to seattle over the long weekend and decided to go there for lunch. Was also on man vs food. Food was pretty good there. Posted via RS Mobile |
I've been there before. A lot of people said it was great and a lot of fun but personally, I think it's a gimmick and nothing particularly special. The food was sub par and the whole idea is nothing more than a novelty. |
went to the bellevue location with my gf once, she wanted to go to a place where u smash the crab and such, I didn't think it was worth the price IMO. |
Went there with my gf this long weekend and I liked it. However our waitress sucked, had to ask for water 3 times before I got fed up and had to ask a different waitor Posted via RS Mobile |
i went a few months ago and thought it was pretty decent. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...s/IMG_0751.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...s/IMG_0753.jpg |
Went to the one in Seattle downtown. It was expensive for what you get. It's really just broiled seafood. Not much work involved in terms of preparation. Like others said, it's a gimmick, a touristy thing. Since you're a tourist, you should go experience it just once. In other words, huge waste of money. |
I went once with the wife. It was an interesting experience, but i definitely wouldnt go again. |
It's fun to go once, and never again. |
Go do it, and have a good time. |
I've been there a couple times, the crab isn't super fresh and it's a bit overpriced cuz there's a lot of "filling" like potatoes and corn but smashing the crap out of everything can be quite amusing if you haven't tried it yet. I once hit the crab so hard a piece of shell flew across the table hehe... |
Never going there again. Went when they first opened, no liquor license yet and place was all right I guess but the food was really bland. They really got to season their food. Thumbs down for me. |
You went there when they first opened? That must have been many, many years ago!... not sure about then but now they season it pretty well. I just find the actual crab to be not very fresh. It's obviously not live crabs, but the frostburn on it can really be tasted. There is a restaurant in LA that I went to 2 weeks ago that used the same Crab Pot concept except they use fresh live crab, omg DELICIOUS! |
I went there many times and their oyster shooters are awesome. You have to try them. |
I was just down there over the Victoria day long weekend with the GF. If anyone wants to get free appetizers and plan to try the crab pot feast, go to the "Bill Speidel's Underground Tour" store and grab a Crabpot card in their stack of advertisements for Free appetizers with a purchase of 2 entries or more. |
its bad at this game |
went there once cuz i saw a picture of my friends there. Was fun the first time for the novelty like others said but the food's not good. Wont ever go again. |

I was there last month it wasn't to bad but the wait wasnt worth it. The problem I had with it was the smaller seafood was overcooked. They cook it all at the same time and crabs may take 15 minutes to cook but clams mussels and shrimp do not. Oops logged in wrong. posted by Phil |
i've been there a couple of times too...fun to go with people that haven't been but after factoring the price per person and gas and etc......it's better to crab pot at home....and you get more selection and food! lol...unless you go shopping in the states for the day...then that's a different story.... |
