2001 is the year they upgraded to the engine from a 3.3L to a 3.5L which produces 240hp. The timing belt was replaced with a timing chain... so really if your looking at a QX4 it should be a 01 and up. 2003 is also the last year the QX4 was made so your buying a piece of Infiniti history!
