Best sunglasses for optics?

I'm in the market for a new pair of sunglasses. My old pair of Maui Jim's are broken. It used to be that Maui Jim's were one of the best for optics but I'd like to know what is comparable. I'm don't care for fashion sunglasses.

What is superior for optics?

to be honest, i had a pair of maui, but somehow i didn't like it. it felt like it was cheap 5 dollar glasses. the opics were ok i guess.

Best polarized lenses bar none.

It's also the "major" only brand I know not manufactured by Luxxotica (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luxottica#Brands)

Maui Jims are still the best

Maui Jim, or Serengetti if you can find the photochromatic model

Can't complain with my Oakley polarized. Have Black iridium and VR28 (both polarized), and they really cut the glare well. Paired with a cheaper plastic frame and it's a pretty good deal.

Better yet, make friends with an Oakley employee and enjoy a 70% discount :D
