War Dog

Cool article, with amazing pictures, about dogs used in the US military. And who doesn't like kick-ass dogs?

I wonder if animal rights activists have protested the usage of these dogs for the military.

Generally the animal rights people leave military, search and rescue and police dogs alone so long as they're not being used as explosive carriers.

These dogs are generally extremely well taken care of and often retire to live with their handler's families when their tours are done. I have a friend who trains dogs for search and rescue and tracking and the bond between trainer and dog is amazing for them to be able to work together as a good team.

my dog peed in a box this morning

TheKingdom2000 05-06-2011 02:37 PM

I wonder if the dog know's how crazy it is.
Like if it was walking down the street and saw another regular dog, would the army dog know it's superior.

These dogs are bad ass

Our family captured one of those when the US army fled. They were smart and didn't attack anybody, just the poultry because they were hungry.

Using metal to CAP fangs is nothing new. I believe most police dogs have silver capped fangs.

This is sooo sick. Reminds me of Black Ops Kill Streak 11: Attack Dogs
You are invincible with these dogs.

Yes

A family freind of mine has a RCMP dog she's VERY loyal and super nice to kids and most people in general. I would love to be a dog handler for a military dog or police dog. The bond between "master" and subject is really strong. I've seen Dogs die cause their owners died or owners just fall apart cause their dog died.

This is precisely why Dogs > Cats. You don't get that kind of a bond with a house cat.

It's a malinois. Belgian version of the Gsd. It's being use alot more in place of Gsd nowadays due to it being more agile, have more drive and doesn't have as much hip problem as the Gsd.
