twitchyzero 05-09-2011 12:12 AM

you already answered your question within the first sentence.

RFlush 05-09-2011 12:14 AM

Why would the CC company be responsible for your own stupidity that has nothing to do with them?

Jgresch 05-09-2011 12:15 AM

Why would the credit card company give you money?

Ask the police if they will give you money while you're at it.

JulyZerg 05-09-2011 12:15 AM

:fuuuuu:

thanks! expensive lesson I guess :(

Matlock 05-09-2011 12:18 AM

You're SOL unless you end up scamming someone else with that money, but that would make you just as much as a criminal as the guy who scammed you in the first place.

All you can do is learn something from your misfortunes.

s300ae 05-09-2011 12:21 AM

just curious... howd you know they were fake bills? you didnt look at them when you got them? or were you told by a bank?

edit: and if you met this person on craigs, shouldnt you have their email and #?

flagella 05-09-2011 12:26 AM

lol he prob only contacted through email.

Gt-R R34 05-09-2011 12:28 AM

nope. pretty out of luck.

CC companies only will if you unwillingly was frauded on the FIRST transaction. aka you buying from the first store.

Not on the resale.

Unless you go to the Knight and King Edward TD Bank. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

All jokes aside, it's a hard pill to swallow. I feel for you, man. Live and learn. I've done some pretty stupid things in my life, too.

s300ae 05-09-2011 12:36 AM

Again, how did you become aware that the bills were fake. You're leaving some stuff out, bro.

Like getting married?

Tip of the iceberg?

parm104 05-09-2011 12:43 AM

If it wasn't for dealing with RevScene, I wouldn't have developed the saavy common-sense I have today when I'm dealing with Craigslist and other buy/sell services.

In the future, meet near a bank so you can verify the bills. Avoid taking large notes as well, their is a less likely chance they will be counterfeit if they're smaller bills (because then they would need MORE of them.)

mmmk 05-09-2011 12:44 AM

Just wondering what you sold? How big was the purchase?

bcrdukes 05-09-2011 12:49 AM

Fuck Craigslist. Full of lying, thieving vermin.

That is all.

Gotta stop hijacking threads with my lame war stories, LOL.

s300ae 05-09-2011 12:55 AM

Good one parm, thats why I only accept loonies and toonies. :p
if someone is willing to give you a 20lb sack of coins, you know theyre legit.

But yea, nothing the CC can do, unless the item was under house insurance and maybe somehow you can convince them. Technically, if the bills are fake, the item was stolen.

Has happened to more people than you would like to think. The one that got away............. never happened to you?

I have made more than the best of it. I have done more than just provide for my family. YOU HAVE NO IDEA........

I make light of it, sure........... perhaps my humour is not to your liking. People make fun of their situation all the time.

god bless...........

BTW, it's all good.
