You really think RS is going to issue a tax receipt? This is a car forum! :fuckyea:

how much was RS able to raise for japan anyway?

There is nothing wrong for asking for a tax receipt for a donation. Why not?
It's a good incentive for people to give who otherwise would not. Or it is a reward for those who give regularly.

Just because someone wants to take advantage of this doesn't make them any less of a person for it. They still gave their money to Charity. It's not like they're taking their money back from the Japan relief effort.

But I don't think anyone would expect a tax receipt from a donation at some casual event by RS. If you're so concerned about tax receipt, donate it to an official organization.

i think revscene would have to be a registerd charity with CRA. i dont think it would qualify if it tried.

Only Canadian registered charities or other qualified donees may issue official donation receipts that qualify for charitable tax credits.

You can't claim a charitable tax credit or deduction unless you have an official donation receipt.
