if you hate animal cruelty then you have to see meatvideo.com

It does not make you a hypocrite if you support the food industry. It is the way they treat the animals before death with vicious pain and suffering.

Bouncing Bettys 05-13-2011 12:23 PM

on the hypocrisy of eating meat:
"I think using animals for food is an ethical thing to do, but we've got to do it right. We've got to give those animals a decent life and we've got to give them a painless death. We owe the animal respect."
—Temple Grandin

If animals don't want to get eaten they should evolve into something that doesn't taste so damn good.

I seen the series of videos for this and I agree, the way they kill and treat some of these animals are brutal. Makes me feel guilty everytime I eat a big mac

I found that treating my dog with respect is how he listened to me the best...

in our society today, there are much better methods in training animals. by your logic, it seems like you are condoning hitting children as well so they can learn from their mistakes by suffering.

You should watch the Cove then. And boycott basically anything that cages/prevents wild animals to be in their natural environment, unless they are endangered.

I am never going to the Aqarium/zoo after watching the Cove

How many of us were really going to watch a movie with that gay vampire dude and Reese Witherspoon?

A period drama/romance? Yeah, I'm sure REVscene members will be lining up for this.

This is something I agree with you on... What ever happened evolution... survival of the fittest. If a species can't adapt to a changing environment or a new predator then it goes extinct. That's the way nature's worked for millions of years.

killing and eating is one thing.. torturing and cruelty is another, jackass. especially since humans have a sense of what is right or wrong and morals, it disgusts me to see how animals are treated. other animals kill and fight for survival and food. very rarely do their prey suffer.

i didn't say it didn't happen, but at least it is justifiable when wild animals do it to survive and aren't castrating their prey and stomping on anothers head... like i said.. humans supposedly have "morals"

In that sense of argument, that means someone like hal0g0dv2 can come over and beat you up and burn your house down just because he is stronger than you?

Sorry hal0g0dv2 had to use you there.

twitchyzero 05-14-2011 10:36 AM

yeah this isn't all different than whipping a group of huskies in a dogsled
transportation versus entertainment..still abuse.
and most of them were pretty conservative usage of the hook...only the fat white bitch is really swinging it...considering the elephants size it really isn't all that different than kicking the horse when you are a riding.

It was only painful to watch when they were removing tusks

Matlock 05-14-2011 11:01 AM

The worst video that I have seen would have to be the one in China where thy skin the critters alive for their fur and then throw them stacked on top of each other in a cart. The animals were still alive, but just slowly dying without any skin.

If you believe that everything you see in that meatvideo is actually how all farms operate then you're very naive.

That video was made by a bunch of vegans with a very specific agenda - to paint all farmers as savages. I grew up on a farm and was around livestock most of my life growing up (including auctions & butchering) and I never once saw anything like what they portrayed.

It would be the same as finding some assholes running a puppy mill, making a video of it, and then saying all people who breed dogs act the same way. Or finding a video of a dog trainer beating a dog and saying all trainers beat their dogs.

It obviously doesn't happen everywhere, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened in the majority of places due to the fast food chains basically controlling all the meat suppliers. You would be naive to believe this is a dime a dozen. You probably also believe all the produce we eat are pesticide free, and that junk food companies care about the health of their consumers too.

That was fucked up... It was the one showing how they collected/killed mink for fur coats etc...

I got TONS of spankings when I was younger. It works and gets the job done. Theres a line between abuse and discipline. Most of you don't seem to understand the concept..

Proof it happens in the "majority" of places or STFU. I have visited hundreds of farms over the years and never saw anything like this. How many farms have you visited? Probably none - you're basing your opinion off an obviously biased video.

Farms in canada or in the states.. yes there is a difference. and i never said it happens to the majority. i said i WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED.

there is also a difference between farms that supply for local markets/meatshops and ones that supply stuff for fast food chains where the demands are insane.

You really think just because you didn't see something it didn't happen? who is naive now.
