Cheap car alarms.

I just need a simple car alarm/remote starter. I've never heard of this brand, though. Tried looking online for reviews but nothing came up. what do you guys think of this?

Warranty comes to mind. The alarm itself is usually the least expensive part of the system.

If you're paying someone $100.00 plus dollars to install this piece into your car to find out that it has quirks or is just plain broken, what then? Or worst... It works for weeks and then one day it leaves you stranded. You'll need to pay for a tow truck to bring it back to the place that installed it just to have them remove it for another $50.00

Sorry for the rant, but I've seen it too many times. XS Cargo sells cheap alarms with NO warranty for $30.00. They don't care. It's just another box to them. Removing your hard earned money from your pockets is all people care about these days.

Buy something from a reputable shop that will take care of you. Spend the extra $50.00 on an alarm with a lifetime warranty. After all, vehicle security should offer you a sense of peace.

I wouldn't for the same reasons as posted above.

While your statement does have some merit to it, I wouldn't go as far as to discredit car alarms. They're generally used to deter and to prevent petty thieves, if anything.

But I could be wrong. :\

hookup your car to a flatbed in 30 seconds and in a ship it in a container to china overnight. Dont listen to all these Alarm/install companies, theyre just making money from your paranoia.

If u really want security just install a hidden fuel pump killswitch in your car. There's tutorial all over the web

So, the hidden fuel pump kill switch helps when your car is on a flatbed?

My 2 Way Compustar has more than paid for itself. Many attempts foiled - glass, shock, and tilt sensors and engine kill. Most thieves will just move onto other cars, like yours, when they see that a car has an alarm installed.

In my books, a good alarm is more than just peace of mind.

Back in the days of no car alarms, I custom made one from a home alarm system. Some poor bastard tried breaking into the car and was in for one big surprise. Damn thing had a key switch, so turning it off meant running out and disarming it with a key. No remote. Never had problems with people breaking into the car, LOL. It was so long ago, I don't even remember how I got a glass breakage sensor to work. Man, I did some crazy shit back then (early 70's). Oh, and under the dash 8 track and cassette players....... haha.
