Laptop Screen + 2 Add on Monitors = 3 screens? Hey guys I just received a new Dell Latitude E6410 laptop and my question is: What do I need to buy to achieve this setup: Laptop screen + 2 external monitors to get 3 screens running? Is there something out there like a Docking station, video card, or a usb driver? Does anybody have a 3 screen setup using a laptop? Thanks |
If I am correct basic video cards only allow dual video out put.. So your laptop only allows 2 screen the LCD and an additional external monitor. So you will need an external videocard with dual outputs to get this going... I might be wrong as I know dual videocards work for desktops but dunno about notebooks. |
You will need to buy a USB display adaptor. On my Thinkpad dock I could only use 2 external monitors. With two externals it would force the laptop monitor off. |

he needs one of these $500 adaptors |
Get this: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=29...nufacture=eVGA I run one on my T60 + dock = 3 monitors. My friend said he ran 2 adapters off his laptop + standard VGA connection = 4 monitors. Running 4 might depend on your GPU though. |
Don't need any of those fancy gadgets. Your laptop has VGA out, just use this: http://www.pctotvconverter.org/wp-co...tter_Cable.jpg |
wouldn't that give you cloned desktops instead of extended and different ones? |
