Proper procedure for parking guys to issue me a ticket. Hey guys, I parked my car in a parking lot that has one machine to issue all parking payments. I was stopped there for a friend who was in town. After like 2 mins, the parking enforcement guy comes by and starts to look at my plate & his wireless device for about 30 sec. (He was pressing something on the tablet too) I quickly opened my window to show my presence and to tell him that I am just about to leave. He did walk away shortly after but I am not sure if he is going to mail me a ticket after. I didnt know that city of vancouver can mail you a parking ticket without any notice on your car. For those who have gone thorough this in the past, please enlighten me. Cheers! |
call the company who owns the lot - they'll tell you immediately if you have a ticket on record. |
You're screwed now. They don't need to leave paperwork on your vehicle - it's all done electronically. What you should have done is go to buy a parking ticket for the minimum time. When you get your ticket in the mail dispute it saying you got the ticket while your buddy was in line at the machine paying for a parking permit. Since the time stamp for the tickets would be very close (couple minutes), you'd have a case. Without a permit, you're stuck. |
one time i drove into impark to check the price of how much it costed to park there, i did not stop there for no longer then a minute (nor was i in a stall, i drove up to the meter). It was special event pricing so it was i think 15-30 dollars for a few hours... i decided to leave a week later i get a ticket in the mail stating i did not pay for parking i got screwed just like you |
PARKING WARS!!! |
I just checked City of Vancouver and it seems like they didnt ticket me. :) |
^It takes up to 24 hours to process and get the ticket into the system. At least that's what it says on the back of the ticket. |
Its been like 20 hours so I guess I'll check it again later tonight. |
Was it a private lot or city owned lot? If Impark ticketed you, calling City of Vancouver is pointless. |
Happened to me once, saw the guy looking at my car and his tablet then I started yelling at him and he walked off like I wasnt there. Thought I got a ticket but nope |
If it isn't the city of Vancouver, it's not a big deal. Just don't park there in the future. |
was leaving revs one night (i had bought a ticket), but on the way out the parking attendant tried to flag me down. I just kept driving as I was in a hurry and found a ticket mailed to me a week later. bullcrap |
Usually you get one freebie under your license plate if you do end up with a ticket. That has been the case with 2/2 of mine. |
