XBOX 360 vs Playstation 3

Please feel free to read and comment. Also, if it's not too much to ask, please retweet this and share it on Facebook as well! This is always my biggest article of the year, and I want a lot of people to read it each time :)

Your explanation of PS+ and how it works is incorrect.

You have:

"Playstation does offer a subscription service – Playstation Plus. What do you get for $4 or $6 per month (depending on subscription length)? It’s hard to tell you really, since the offers change constantly. Right now, you get to play the PS1 title Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus, and the PSN title Comet Crash for free. You would also be able to play the PSN Mini games Vector TD and “A Space Shooter For 2 Bucks” for free. These are just some examples, and they don’t last forever. Once the titles switch over, these games stop being free, and if you wish to continue playing them, you’ll have to buy them."

As a PS+ member, as long as you download them, you are able to play them for as long as you are a PS+ member, even after they are removed from the PS+ section of the store.

Great articles, I’ve enjoyed reading the past versions.

OK I'll fix that, thanks a lot

I also updated a part on XBOX 360 supporting multiple region accounts (but it's a pain in the ass to do) and a section on portability

pretty informative..i remember reading some of the older ones. But is the purpose of these articles to inform people on which console they should choose? Because I think at this point most that are looking to get either one already own one of the two...especially if you didn't really touch on the Motion gaming aspects.

I also think it's more conducive to release these articles after E3...the NGP may very well be able to play PS3 games via cloud saves.

SkinnyPupp 05-17-2011 08:30 PM

The purpose is to inform people of as much as possible without throwing in opinions. From there, they can decide for themselves which one they should choose.

Motion gaming is irrelevant to gamers right now, but I will look at it later. And of course, if the NGP is useful, it will be covered as well.

twitchyzero 05-17-2011 09:15 PM

what makes it irrelevant? As I've already said the core gamers will already have chosen their console if not own both of them, and so motion gaming does play a role in swaying casual players. I understand Kinect is going to be targetting the core gamers soon but Sony has already done so in a similar approach (see Sharpshooter attachment)

SkinnyPupp 05-18-2011 07:25 AM

This article is directed towards core gamers only, or casual gamers shopping for core gamers. The sharpshooter attachment is not a viable alternative to controllers unless you are just goofing off (ie, playing a shooter as a casual gamer)

Like I said, I'll be looking at them later, if possible
