Old Gaming Computer Upgrading - C2D 6700 system I haven't been keeping up computer hardware for quite a longggg time. First of all ~ here is my PC Spec. C2D 6700 oc'ed @ 3.6ghz 4GB DDR2 8500 Nvidia 8800GTS Now, I am thinking upgrading just the Video card to GTX560, or 570. Just to be able to play some current games such as Witcher 2, Crysis 2...etc. I will do a whole system upgrade after BF3 releases. Question 1. How much of a difference I would feel after V-Card upgrade ? Question 2. Would my C2D 6700 system be the bottle neck of this new V-card ? |
1. night and day...google the benchmarks 2. yes |
Even a gtx 460 would let you play any current game. And yes if you get a high end gpu it will get bottlenecked. Also, make sure your case is big enough to fit large gpus. Posted via RS Mobile |
i take it you have a decent power supply |
holy shit I want to fucking rant right now so I'll just do it in this thread. first angry post on new forums. So I go to the NCIX warehouse sale I was actually 20th in line. I went after work. I got in, picked up a new 27inch monitor (asus ve led... 239). Asked the tech's to sell me a video card, they sell me a msi gtx 460 hawk or something for 119. I specifically asked if this video card could display 3 monitors. They said yes. came home plugged it in, later discovered that I need 2 of the same video cards to do this. My mobo can't support 2 pci-e cards. So Now I need to get another video card, a new mobo and a new processor. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I don't really have much money to rhow around OMG BIG FUCKING SPIDER ON MY DESK so now I have to go out and spend probably another 500 dollars. Matching the video card and a new mobo and CPU, and probably ANOTHER power Supply, and ANOTHER CASE. Fuck this shit. |
