Need Help with choosing elective classes

Hey guys, Im heading to Langara this September and im not to sure which electives to take. Im taking 6 electives and I want to choose some which are easy and GPA boosters (but no statistic or business courses please). If you guys can post some here that are transferable to university, that would be great ! Thanks.

1st year language classes are pretty easy

Balla25 05-23-2011 02:22 PM

I rather not take a language, haha do you have any other suggestions?

cpsc 1000 with bryan green. best blow off class ever. Plus he's a real nice dude I really liked him.

Yeah a lot of posts I saw online said to take that course so I'm gonna take it as well. Still looking for 5 more easy courses, any other ones that you took that were easy?

Did you take history 12 back in high school? Because if you did well, you should take either history 1115 or history 1125 since they are continuations of world war 2. If you study and do decent on the essay, then it should be an okay B. Psychology 1115 is somewhat easy with Valerie Lloyd if you do the bonus assignments and read the textbook/study guide/online mc. Also, look into some human kinetics courses.

6 classes is not easy regardless of the course.

Phil classes with Alex Boston.

No midterms, no finals, and just one short term paper (1200 words)

The catch is that he has a quiz daily worth 1.2-1.5%

take classes that you're interested in and you'll do good... what we find easy might be difficult to you

Balla25 05-27-2011 08:01 AM

Hey Splmash, how many questions is the daily quizes?

usually you read 2 articles the class before, and then he gives you 2 Q's on it the next class, one from each article, he is really specific with the question so you gotta pretty much know the articles inside out, they are usually 5-10 pages long each(Phil 1101 anyways I ono bout his other classes). It's kinda tough because you either getting 100% or 0.

he's right. he give you summaries of the articles and 1/3rd of the time the answer is in those.

tiger_handheld 06-17-2011 11:22 AM

i was in your boat few months ago but at Kwantlen.
My electives were:

Geography 1100 - very basic class. learn about economic development, population, migration etc. Very applicable to real life.

Psyc 100 + 200 - interesting. labs were some what fun. cool to see how things function and to understand why people do what they do.

Consumer Behaviour - Psychology 100 with a marketing focus. Easy, Peasy, Fresh and Breezy :)

BCAP1200 (Nizar) 2hours to do simple tasks during tests, google permitted. Don't even really need to show up for lectures.

PSYC1115 (Mod w/ Poole)
MC Exams, simple tasks to do each week for web portion of class, easy.

PSYC1215 (Scratchley)
MC Exams, basically vocab/memorization, one paper, easy.

For the intro psychology classes, most professors simply reword/pull questions from the web quizzes that come with the psychology textbooks.
