Telus Smartphones

So, I'm looking at upgrading soon... still debating between an iPhone 4 or an Android phone. iPhone is a known quantity (wife has one)... Android, I've only played with briefly. Please, no debates on one platform vs. the other, I have my own thoughts on that.

The one thing that really puts me off the iPhone is that I can't stand the touchscreen soft keyboard -it just can't keep up with my typing. I do like the hard keyboard on my older HTC and would prefer to go with that option, but Telus's only options there are the LG Shine Plus, or a range of Blackberries (I have NO interest in getting a Blackberry).

So, anyone have an LG Shine? Any thoughts on it?

And that aside, if I decide to just suck it up and forgo the hard keyboard, what are thoughts on some of their other offerings? I'd love to go 4G, which narrows the options to:
Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate
Samsung Galaxy Apollo
Nexus S
Motorola Defy
HTC Desire
HTC Desire HD
LG Optimus One
LG Shine Plus

(There are a few Windows phones as well, but I don't want to go there either).

Shine Plus actually seems to fit ALL the option categories - Android, 4G, WiFi, International Roaming, Touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, "High quality camera", and memory slot.

Telus's phones are all listed here: http://www.telusmobility.com/en/BC/s...CC4smartphones

That's tough. Personally it's between the Nexus and the iPhone4. Android is fun only if you're going to mess around with it, otherwise just get the iPhone. There aren't that many good phones here in Canada with actual keyboards. If you can snag a Bell HTC DesireZ, then that's your best bet for a phone with a real keyboard. Having played with one it's pretty solid.

By the way, the Win7 phones I think are pretty intriguing. They apparently are very snappy, and with their new updates most functionality is there. With a web-based app store on the way, I'm almost tempted to try one :P
