shipping rim question

Hey guys,

I have a brother in Montreal and I want to get him a set of rims.
and I just wondered if anyone has experience with shipping a set to east from Vancouver.

Thanks,

approx $30-40 per wheel without tires. Not sure about tires.

I sent a set of 20" wheels with tires to Ontario for about $200 using Greyhound Courier Express (the one on terminal street).
It was one of the cheapest places that I found.

I taped a piece of cloth over each front lip. Then I cut cardboard and sandwiched each wheel.
I used a lot of clear packaging tape, then used shrink wrap to finish it off. You may use a wheel bag as well.

If you stick tape onto the wheels, your brother should remove the tape with a heat gun to prevent sticky residue on the face/lip of the wheel.

Thanks for very helpful answers!
Btw, the set of wheels are brand new in box. Would it provide enough protection?

In that case, the wheels should be okay cuz that's how they were initially shipped!

X2 on Greyhound. I got my 17" rims and tires shipped up from ontairo with a bunch of parts boxed up inside of the rims and it was only about 200. should take about or a little less then a week to get there
