Even if most Kirpans are sealed shut, there is not way to guarantee that. Especially if an officer sees one the possession of an aggressive person, it could very well be a sharpened blade.

Seems like he was carrying 2 kirpans, a larger one

and smaller one

Any reason why a Sikh would normally carry more than one? or is this guy just fucked?

no point in having a sword unless you're in the world of Live Action Interactive Role-Playing Explorer, LAIRE.

Dude is obviously fucked in the head and even I don't think Sikh's (I'm Sikh) should be allowed to carry the large kirpans shown above but 99% of baptized Sikhs wouldn't carry them anyways. The larger kirpans are more of a symbolic thing that's usually showcased at parades.

I was actually at a wedding in the UK and this guy decked out in traditional warrior clothing walks in wearing two large kirpans, one on each side. It was quite the sight because he couldn't even sit down on the floor, he kneeled down and basically sat on his knees (if that makes sense) the entire time. Everyone in the temple was looking at the guy and had the "wtf is this guy doing" look.

Queue the protests against the VPD for the brutal treatment of this poor individual who was merely trying to express himself and his beliefs.

What did he drop during the tackle? It doesn't look like his gun.

the officer merely just dropped his single action pistol which had a chambered round with the safety off. the chances of anyone actually getting shot from a random drop like that are astronomically high, so its not that dangerous

so you would just stand there if a mental guy with a sword charges towards you while cops have their guns drawn pointed in your direction?:speechless:
