A 7-speed sounds like a good idea for a cruising gear, like Overdrive on a automatic transmission.

The point of having more gears is so u could have shorter gears. Less gears = longer gears.
Heres a concept that might blow your mind.....
You can just shift from 1st to 3rd or 4th and be fine around town.
