Best bang for the buck TV right now? In the market for a new 42-46" TV in the up to $1500 range, but I dont think I need to spend more than $1000 these days. I prefer LCD over Plasma. I dont care about 3D. Is LED at a level thats worth looking into yet? |
I've owned an LCD, LED, and 2 Plasmas... hands down the Plasmas had the best picture and were the best bang for the buck. Here's a thread with a lot of info to help with your decision... http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1258509 |
LED screen will need 1000-1500 LCD screen can go below 1000 Personally, I can't see any difference. I'd buy whichever fits my budget |
try openbox? i think some rs members bought tv's from there and have no complaints. dono if they have the tv you'd want but they're alot cheaper than msrp at FS |
no openbox in kelowna. no BB either. I want to go LCD/LED because my TV is right beside a MASSIVE window with afternoon sun and its a really bright room. Had a 42" Sharp LCD for 3 years that I had absolutely no complaints about but it moved with my roomate. Im sort of leaning towards a Sony 46EX500 at this point, but still looking. Need to buy a TV before game 2 :D |
Look at the new Panasonic E3 series. Great TV's. If you can find a Panasonic U25 LCD (try London Drugs, Future Shop), it's a slightly older unit with good features and 120Hz. Great panel on it IMO. Also a great deal right now. |
