Head-tracking in Racing Simulator Games motion gaming is often seen as a gimmick...but I think this is pretty sweet. Forza Motorsport 4 with Kinect camera Gran Turismo 5 with PS Eye the latter is way crappier and only limited in arcade mode..but I guess it came out first so gave way for the Kinect to improve on. |
talk about realism... |
I wonder if Kinect is absolutely necessary for FM4. If it is, that's complete bullshit since I have the older-generation 360, and I think Kinect is just a shitty cash grab trying to capitalize on the popularity of the Wii. |
It's not necessary at all to play the game, this is just showing head tracking, which obviously it would be required for. And it doesn't matter how old your 360 is, you can buy a Kinect and use it still. And yes, head tracking is awesome. it also is the one thing I have seen that makes 3D actually useful. |
It's cool.. but it seems like it would make it a little awkward as well.. since in real life you can move your head with your eyeballs pointing in the same direction.. but now your eyeballs are stuck in the same spot while your head moves around? haha. oh and you have to make sure you pause the game before you turn your head to talk to someone now! |
^ yeap which is why it would work better with 3D I sit really far away from my PS Eye but I may give this try some times...still disappointed they would put their efforts in developing this feature that is so limited in the game rather than focusing on premium car models.. |
I've been using Track IR for a year now for flight sim. Awesome piece of kit and changes the game completely. |
that's pretty cool... maybe I can take the dustcover off the kinect! |
kinda creepy, imagine what this technology can do to other devices: computer, browsing using your eyes\head |
