I would like to get something durable and rain proof for my adult german sheperd. Any good deals or brands you would recommend? thanks :D

Meh, dogs do take shelter in the rain so if the jacket is purposeful I don't see a problem.

You just get into issues when you dress your dog for completely cosmetic reasons

RC Pets make some good rain coats for dogs. It's nice when you don't have to spend an hour drying them off after a walk in the pouring rain.

I dont think German Shepherds are necessarily the best dress up breed. I'm just looking for something to keep this old dog from sitting at home all day when it rains.

I also used to think it was stupid, but having our dog come home from a walk and be (mostly) dry is pretty cool. Plus with how much it rains here, the odds of raining right after we put his flea meds on his back is too big hehe.

We just went to tisol and bought something that would fit him..

@Acuracura although that is almighty pimp I am not yet ready to spend 2k on a dog jacket :P

Well I visited a local Tisol and the guy said my dog doesnt need or probably wouldnt want an thick layer jacket. He recommended a thin wind breaker that folds nicely into a pouch that can be attacked to the leash. Thanks everyone! :D
