Not that I know of. My GF lives right there and I have to park in her neighbor's spot when they're not home.

BUT there is supposedly a Free Parking zone on the 300th block of Abbott St. (Outside Woodward's I believe)

k3mps 06-06-2011 09:17 PM

you can park for free INSIDE tinseltown

unit 06-06-2011 09:19 PM

only if you watch a movie. and its not valid all day long, only for like 4hrs or something

TRDood 06-06-2011 09:22 PM

first 2 hours free.

k3mps 06-06-2011 09:23 PM

first 2 hours are free

edit: beat me to it ^^

yes if you plan on going shopping, or just need a place to keep your car for the game(?) its a good option but to an extent

Eff-1 06-06-2011 09:28 PM

just curious, what about people who are going to watch the away games at rogers arena? is it still free?

For the parking? I thought that was for the tickets to get inside the arena (have those already).

take the skytrain or park in the Strathcona residential area and walk the 5ish blocks. It'll be hell getting out there after the game anyways.

im actuallly going there for a movie but how would they actually know that? is the movie theatre gonna give me a parking ticket to put on my dash?

havent been to tinseltown since hs and i cant figure out this woman wants to watch the movie there..didnt they have pretty small ones there that's similar to station square or r they much bigger now?

anyways thx for the info guys, i even tried using google street view but didnt really have any luck...

Its a pay as you leave affair, so the movie ticketing booth will give you a proof of purchase that you can use to offset your original parking cost.

where is this Strathcona area? care to provide a google map link?
going tomorrow so no game :)

There's parking along Expo Blvd.

Strathcona is the residential area directly east of Chinatown.

Also, if you have an iPhone, download the Park 'in' Spot app. It will show you the free parking spots in the city and any time restrictions. Also works for Toronto & Seattle.

StylinRed 06-06-2011 10:31 PM

in between chinatown and tinsletown

Buy a movie ticket @ Tinseltown and just hit up whatever, wouldn't that work?

The theatre's @ Tinseltown got bought out by Cineplex, so there have blockbuster hits (newest movies) there now; with the cushy seats from the Old Cinemark as a bonus.

http://www.cineplex.com/Theatres/The...e-Cinemas.aspx

When you go, park, and then close to where the machines are to pay; there's a sign that says if you're there to watch a movie - parking in free!

Taken from the above link:

"Parking: FREE PARKING UNDERGROUND - DO NOT PAY AT PAY STATION".

Simple google search! :o

Adding in the cheap movie tickets and you're good to go with some popcorn for a inexpensive date night!

Hope this helps!

sure but then you're paying 11 bucks for 2 hr parking anyway.

i thought it was something like 4hrs because usually i get there, buy a ticket, maybe eat, walk around, then watch the movie. lots of times its 3+ hours but they never charge me extra. i just show them the parking validation and they let me go right through. i guess they're just lenient since half the movies out there are over 2 hours anyway

FerrariEnzo 06-07-2011 11:43 AM

man... dont even bother thinking about driving near there... tons of people roaming the streets... but ding your ride..

just transit over there... but it will also be packed too...

you! 06-08-2011 07:36 PM

So you got some? That's a plus on top of the free parking.
