Is it worth the risk? If you get caught, the ticket is $50. I wouldn't bother.

Slightly off-topic, but what do typical parking companies (impark, DPS, SFU, UBC) do when your car has temporary license? Or would it function as a free parking pass since you'll probably have a new number by next week or the next time you drive?

Learn to drive, I hate asshats that leave their car parked to far out onto the street.

That's not a BS ticket, it's your fault for not having the ability to park closer than 30cm to the curb. :failed:

ill make sure to memorize all these tips so i can park illigally at the given times. not a hassle at all. maybe ill write it down and keep it in my car to refer to everytime i park. way more convenient then to just pay

And a tip to keep time of your parking meter, set a timer on your cellphone.

most private parking lot companies are able to get info from the ICBC database. they just have to prove to ICBC that the car was violating one of their parking regulations that results in a fine. and so, because now you owe the private company money, ICBC will hand over the registered owner info to the private parking company. so even if you have a TOP, they'll get the registered owner info from ICBC anyway.

I got 9" wide wheels with 205 tires stretched over them. I'd risk that ticket of parking too far from curb before I try to get any closer to please.....well no one.

As for parking close to the curb, I try to park so that one footlong sub can't fit!

or better, set up the pay-by-phone, text you when time's up and authorize more parking minutes all at you finger tips, no more setting timer and running back to the meter with coins ...

Just call the number on the meter and you can setup via your cell phone.

If you are at home, go here : https://verrus.com/verrus/SignUp.aspx

+1 been doing that for ages now.

you can also do it via mobile web as well. you can add/delete license plates, etc. all hooked up to a credit card. this is in vancouver and ubc for sure. not sure if other municipalities use verrus as well.
