static and fuzzy sound from speakers
 

im not into audio or anything so i might not have some of the terms right. the car is a 95 bmw 540i. when i got the car, everything was stock including the radio. all of the speakers sound fine but i wanted mp3 so i got an aftermarket deck. i wired the deck using a adapter pigtail made for bmw so none of the wiring was cut on the car's dash harness. all the connections were soldered and shrink tube wrapped. the car itself is equipped with 2 big speakers, 2 medium speakers and 2 tweeters up front. the rear has 2 big speakers and two tweeters on the parcel tray. the car has a stock amp and no subs. after i put the new deck in, it sounds fine when playing music loudly. no distortions or crackling or anything weird. however, when playing music at very low volume and when there is silence in the track, the small speakers and tweeters have a fuzzy static sound. it is not the interference sound you get that increases as the rpm increases. its always constant. the big speakers act normal and will go silent. i put the stock deck back in and the tweeters stopped making fuzzy sounds. i checked my wiring job and it looks fine. any help would be appreciated.

It's like this with 99% of the aftermarket decks. There will always be a little bit of noise, I spent hours upon hours researching and tryin everything to get rid of it, but it's just something you have to live with.

Unless someone has some secret ancient remedy...

Stock speakers could have wonky impedances or wiring setups that don't work well with aftermarket decks & amps.

i just disconnected all 4 tweeters and played around with the settings in the deck a bit to compensate. i just up went from 10 speakers to 6. no more fuzz. didn't notice any negative effects to the sound quality. my untrained ears cant tell. probably going to get a giant facepalm from the hardcore audio guys but at least it was free.

Otherwise you can try redoing the ground wire for the stereo

I tried so many different Grounding points :( Factory wiring, grounding to metal in dash, grounding to bolt in dash, grounding to bolt under seat, shorter ground, grounding to chassis etc :(

For some reason the fuzziness didn't bother anyone but myself :s

You probably will have to delete the factory amp if you want clear sound.
