The average salary in the CFL is around 60 K a year compared to the NFL who has a minimum salary of 250 K. CFL is like the AHL to the NHL if compared to NFL. But you'll probably hear some proud Canadians try to deny this. 3 down football is retarded IMO.

3 down football is way more fun to watch. It's much more of a passing game rather than a whole game of dudes running 3 yards at a time to get to the next down. Defensive line CFL players are also in much better physical shape than their NFL counterparts. I prefer watching CFL over the NFL. The only downside is the small contingent of teams.

Started partying at noon, went to the game, crawled into a bed at about 4am. Not sure how I'm even awake right now.

I've seen the football punted 6 times by both teams in tota,l in a span of 5 mins once.

No idea what your basing that one on. Defences in the NFL would shit on any CFL team.

I think he's just mistaking smaller for better shape. The guys in the NFL are huge but just as fast or faster as these guys who are way lighter in the CFL.

I don't understand why people compare the two leagues they are totally different in every way. The way the game is played, downs, players on field, feild size and rules. Obviously the NFL has the better players it's the premier league. It doesn't make the CFL any less entertaining to watch IMO.

I'm huge into both leagues, I grew up with the CFL. I also love the NFL, have Sunday ticket and spend every Sunday during football season watching games all day. No shit one league has less talent, in other news the sky is blue and grass is usually green.

Using the comparison logic if I watch the Canucks I can't enjoy the Giants, Wolves or things like World Jr's because it's a shit compared to the NHL.

JDął 11-28-2011 10:23 AM

The NFL is quite different, it's way more of a running game which in my opinion isn't as exciting. However the size and athleticism of the guys down there is a totally different animal. Borderline unnatural.

The reason why I find the CFL unbearable to watch is the 3 down rule. It causes excessive punting which ruins the flow of the game and bores the hell out of me. People defending the CFL are going to say well the NFL is an all run league, well IMO watching players like Peterson and Vick run through defenses is much more exciting then 50 punts in a game. Yes there are teams that favour the run game but most go for a balance anyways.

Yes by the same "logic" I find watching junior hockey unbearable, unless its the World Juniors (highest quality). I'm also a huge soccer fan, I find the MLS unbearable to watch as well. To each their own I guess.

Excessive punting bores you? Really? You know what bores me? The fair catch rule. Punting in the CFL can actually be strategic, especially with the Rouge.

3 down football and a larger field force teams to take chances. I personally like to see offences stretch the field and great battles between receivers and the secondary.

Let's not argue CFL vs. NFL

Agree to disagree and to each their own.

Let's just enjoy the Grey Cup win and the amazing end to the season!

Also heard there will be some sort of celebration at BC Place tomorrow at 11.... heard might not be a parade though... can anyone confirm?

Let's end every argument on this thread relating to who has better players. CFL players suck compared to NFL players. Let's not kid ourselves.

I might be a few on here that actually enjoy the battles in the trenches and like watching defensive ends and defenses hurry, sack and tackle people.

You can see more crazy blitz and stunts in the NFL, and the Running Back is play is more pronounced in the NFL.

some NFL wide receivers are fast enough to make it on olympic sprinting teams. Most of these guys ran track in collegeand had times that would qualify for World championships, they just prefer to make more money playing football.

I enjoy watching both, but I prefer the NFL over CFL like I prefer watching the Canucks over the Giants.
