It doesn't take a genius to spot a ringer whether hes faking an orgasm or not.

Yeah but at the same time the team may have a few shitty players, but still, some ringers are able to win a game for their team easy

If thats the case, then the onus is on the league....not the team.

ok, i need to set something straight here...

if i wanted to join a league right now with the skill level of a beginner, which is the best that majority of RS members would say is great to be in?

In your situation (being a goaltender), that question is not really conclusive.

Being in a position of little supply and somewhat of a demand....if I was a goaltender, I'd play for the best possible team with the most minimal cost, regardless of what league it is.

For players, its different.

But hey, if you can play a 30 game season with an okay team in a league you don't mind for free....WHY NOT???

alright.... having said that, which would you recommend? i need to sign up soon or i might be too late to join any league for this coming winter season.

If you can get your hands on a good team and minimal ice fees,...then Coast.

it says on their website that winter season registration cost $700. is that normal for fees?

edit: i talked to the coordinator and he said half price for goalies so $350 for me. is that reasonable?

Yes

anyone have opinions on TAHL (UBC)? In terms of skill level, how does the lowest tier compare to ice604? Looking to play a little higher level than what I'm used to.

lmfao at 'trying out' for a noob ass beer league team

Well for one this VACHL league is run in essence by the City of Vancouver Parks and Recreation. So the 'norm' for all other beer leagues (604, ASHL, CHL, Planet Ice etc etc) may not apply.
Everyone registered as an individual and the hope is that every team is balanced with some really bad players and some better players. I know that they have actually kicked out and refunded some players who's skill level is not of "beginner" in that league.

Im looking for beginner players for one of my ice604 teams. If anyone is interested, please contact: info@kbi-hockey.com

And Ray if you know of any low div CHL teams looking for players let me know. Apparently many teams there are rather ANTI-female :(

If anyone's interested in playing a beginner/intermediate skilled league, come join Ace Leagues in Richmond! ACE Leagues as early bird ends soon!

If any goalies want to come out to stick n puck @ richmond ice centre on tues/thurs mornings, PM me. Usually I go there to work on movements and other stuff, I wouldn't mind helping out some newbie goalies.

I'm planning to go to stick and puck tomorrow morning while i nurse the late stages of a charleyhorse on my calf. You coming out tomorrow?

That's the plan. I'll probably go at like 11am.
