Laptop Help

Can any one suggest the best current PC equivalent of the Macbook Air?

I want something fairly light and small, and great battery life. Doesn't need to be super powerful.

Great battery life is what I"m after..price doesn't matter.

Any input appreciated! I know there is that ASUS slim laptop copycat, but that isn't available yet...

The new Dell Z series claims to be the world lightest 15inch laptop or something like that. The specs and price point is pretty decent and on paper they claim it can last about 8 hours.

Lenovo makes decent laptops but not sure about the battery life.

The Samsung Series 9 is the only current direct competitor to the Macbook Air

Asus has an ultra-thin with i7 coming out, as well as this LG laptop that boast an IPS screen, i7, and SSD+HDD.

I'm going to get this once it comes out. I have the UL30vt right now, its rated for 10 hours on, and if battery life is what you want, then you'll want the U36sd. I usually spend 12-16 hours at school, and I rarely bring my charger, but I do turn off wifi when I don't need it.

here are some pictures, mind you it is the U36jc, the jc is the older model, sd is the successor with the same body shell 19mm thick!

if you don't want to wait for the sd you can buy the jc now at NCIX, but sd utilizes the new sandy bridge archi

That's not the equivalent to a Macbook Air though. It's a copycat of the MacBook Pro. 15" and even weighs and has practically the same thickness.

I never said the Asus was. I said the new Dell Z does. They look so similar.

^6 Is the fact that Apple makes their laptop look really really nice compare to other manfacture, and they had a great marketing team.

I mean just compare a 15inch MPB to other 15inch laptop out there. MPB looks a look better in terms of design (is not bulky, is not plastic, Keyboard looks nice). Most laptop I see looks really bulky and just plan ugly. While there are other laptops that are starting to look like Apple but it will never be the same.

Is also Apple's great marketing team. When you shop around for a laptop say at bestbuy or futureshop you tons of different brand of laptop mix together while apple have its own little neat space. Also a lot of higher end laptops aren't on display so what ppl see from other brands are their low to Mid range laptops.

I am no Apple fan boy (never own any apple product other than Iphone) but you have to admit just by looking at the laptop itself Apple wins by a mile 9although specs isn't so great).
