^ you obviously haven't been to a restaurant with more than 10 people. Most places automatically add the tips into the bill for large parties

Yeah, that's bullshit. If it's not mandatory to pay tip in the first place,
why is it an auto 15% if there is more people.

I'm not saying I don't pay tip, but what gives them a right to make it mandatory (at their tip percentage) with X amount of people.

Has anyone here actually tried to refuse to pay the auto 15% tip? or is it actually mandatory, and against the law to not pay that?

I see the disclaimer of 15% on groups over X amount at the bottom of menus. so i dont think you can skimp out on it if it is in writing before you order. that would be like ordering an $80 steak and saying:

ya i'm not paying that much for a steak, a steak should be $18 and that's all i'm giving you.

i'm not saying if it's right or wrong. just saying I think they can enforce it b/c they've informed you in writing. it would be your choice to eat there in a large group or not.
