2011 What gear are you running and review it thread?

I figured since there's not much action in this section lately maybe we should start a thread about what we're currently running and maybe your future plans for your system. That way we can see what each of us have and whomever can get non-biased personal opinions on the gear we have. Fancy or not, share it with us car audio nerds.

Headunit- Clarion VX400 6.1" Double DIN DVD
Front Speakers- Stock
Rear Speakers- Stock
Center Speaker- None
Speaker Amp(s)- Deck Power
Sub Amp(s)- Clarion XH7110 @ 4-Ohm, 450w x 1
Subwoofer(s)- AVI SLS-300 12"
Subwoofer Enclosure- Prefabbed :s
Etc- Escort 8500 X50

Future plans- Swap H/U to NX501, Change fronts to either Focal Polyglass or Morel Dotech's and add 2-Chan Amp and get custom built box made to spec.

Review- I originally wanted ipod control so I opted for a touch screen interface for ease of use. Although not a bad unit, I wish the Ipod interface loaded up quicker. My main gripe is that it's hard to fast forward songs. So if I'm on song 50, and want to go to the 100th song it'll take forever because it can only shows the first 5 or so songs....so I have to keep skipping to the next page loading the next 5 songs, then keep skipping. The new NX501 you can use the screen to scroll much quicker making it much easier to find that song you want without the waiting time.

As for the Clarion amp, I've never thought too highly of Clarion in the past but the last few years they have come along way. The XH7110 mono amp is quite a beast for the price. I was definitely surprised. Looks alot better than before too.

The AVI SLS-300 is very accurate. Sounds good, definitely not huge bass though. I'd suggest this if you listen to a wide variety of music. It hits low, I just wish it punched a little harder but I think that has more to do with the shitty prefabbed enclosure.
