^^^ ohhh snap crackle and pop...so far...lol ill just come to say hi |
Alright, I was so excited about that "Circuit", that I drove over and attempted to lap it once. I left Richmond around 3:15am, arrived at the intersection of MV road and Hem. V. road by around 4:45-5ish am. Traffic up to the "run" was practically non-existent, but since it was 5am that doesn't really count. A LOT of straight-away's. ;) The thing that sucks about it though is that 3-4 KM's up "Hem. V. Road", the pavement goes from pretty decent no pot holes, to pavement covered in dirt, and small rocks. I don't know if its a temporary thing like construction where its only a stretch, i didnt want to risk it so I turned around immediately to avoid rock chips. The drive up to that point though, is an absolutely blast. Consecutive hair-pins, Uphill/Downhill. Really feels like you're doing touge in the mountains of Japan :fullofwin:. This run lasts about 3-4 minutes, but there are no barriers. One slip could mean ending up in a ditch 10+ feet down into some rocks, or smashing into a big old Douglas fir tree. When I was driving up as the sun was rising, to see the lakes and the sun coming over the distant mountains it was simply breath-taking. This is definitely somewhat of a Tourist road, a lot of small dirt patches where you can pull over to take excellent scenic car shots. Here are some pics from before I got to Hem. V. Road, crappy pics Really doesn't do this place justice. Also I wish I had a Go-Pro cam lol, I woulda recorded some runs up and down HV Road to show you guys how fun it was. Spoiler! I'd say if you have a day to cruise, its definitely worth going up and doing a couple of runs up and down. No cars at all at the time, but it is a pretty narrow road. Once again it was at 5am lol. So its probably a better idea to tone it down unless you go at an obscure time. Also its a hell of a drive, 125km one way (1.5 hr - 2 hr) from Richmond so be sure to fill up on gas. To me it was well worth it. Really learned how to handle my car in all situations. However, there is another possible route, that I didn't take. That would be passing the left turn onto Hemlock road, and continuing north-east and then south, which would be http://maps.google.ca/maps?saddr=Mor...sz=14&t=h&z=14, or you can take a left at the fork and head up north via Weaver Road alongside the Harrison lake. These two routes I haven't scouted, I can only assume that it is a paved road. edit// sorry hc529 lol, got too excited and left before I saw your post about meeting at IKEA at 10. |
Is this the "Nurburgring"? |
I couldn't do the outlined route in that post because the upper section of it was gravel, this is what I did do http://maps.google.ca/maps?saddr=Mor...sz=14&t=h&z=14 Note: Point B is approximate as to when the pavement turns into gravel |

how about this route? http://maps.google.ca/maps?saddr=Mor...-A&mra=pr&z=12 |
LOL I'd probably fly off a cliff dozing off. Maybe after the weekend or something, because at the time I was leaving 6:30-7am ish there were already pickup trucks towing boats up the road. Quote:
I need to go to sleep lol, lets make a new thread haha |
