Stopping Shock Movement My rear tires are rubbing when I go through a dip on the road. I don't want to roll my fenders so my friend said he stopped his shock movement just before where it hits his tire. I was wondering does any shop do this? I have the rubber I need to put to stop the shock moving but don't have the tools to do it myself. |
Sorry but that's stupid. Your loosing your suspension travel when you do that. thus when it hits those "bump stops" all that force is transferred straight to the frame. |
just roll your fenders... ....or get thicker struts :troll: |
stiffer suspension? |
YOU GOTTA PAY TO PLAY. |
you're better off: a) raising the car b) increasing camber c) using a stiffer suspension d) rolling your fenders e) or all of the above |
dodge it |
well it wont be stopping the shock movement completely. the shock will have travel for about 90% but the 10% i want it stop before it hits the tire |
rolling your fenders will be cheaper in the long run.... rolling fenders = 80 bux a side max!......labour costs for dismount of shocks etc... is aprox 80-90/hr.... And thats not factoring in extra parts costs and delays from rusted/siezed bolts etc... Take some time and rethink ur ideology... |
