Aircare lane inspector position Anyone on here currently working as a lane inspector? I have an interview for tmrw but not sure how to dress and also not sure what type of questions to expect. If anyone could help out then that be great, thx Posted via RS Mobile |
don't know if you got the job or not, but I was a lane inspector many years back. It was a really boring job. I actually started psyching out people by pretending that they had failed, and then telling them that they indeed passed. I just went in with a shirt and tie. Nothing too formal. I left after 2 weeks. Wasn't worth it as you have to start off part time, and work your way to full.. and they expected me to "always be available". |
seems like a shitty job, having to inhale car exhaust fumes 8 hours a day |
what's the starting wage? |
How do you apply? |
I'm not 100% sure but I heard through the grapevine that you can apply by going on to a computer and looking for vacant job postings on Aircare.ca. There is a dedicated page called "Employment" under the "About Us" section. I was also told that you will need a resume and cover letter (wtf is that?!) in order to apply. Regardless, that's just a rumour. You can't believe everything people say these days. :\ |
I just went there in person to apply. I forgot how much it was... I think $12-15/hr? eddy: it was a BORING job because you'd test like 15 cars and feel like an hour is gone by. But then you look at your watch, and it's only been about 30 mins. On the other hand, it was quite therapeutic in a sense that it's one of the only jobs where people can bitch and whine at you, and you don't really have to be *nice* back to them (it's aircare... what choice do they have apart from going to another center or not insuring their car). My foreman at the time was really cool, so anyone that constantly freaked out, he'd just tell them that they can go and write to Gordon Campbell. |
