RE: buying aftermarket wifi antenna for PCI wifi card

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone with wifi issues in the house had tried buying an aftermarket high gain antenna for their PCI wifi adapter cards, and what difference it made?

I got a wireless bridge to extend the network downstairs instead of getting an antenna. As long as the antenna fits and doesn't cause a downturn in the the signal, it should be fine.

The difference will be small. You will notice a bigger difference in using an antenna with an extension cable, like a Linksys AS1SMA.

If you are using Wireless G, you will notice a bigger improvement by going to N.
